Our girls are sitting pretty, as they
have moved house. In fact we have just built them newer homes.
Oaklands own design for the colony system has impressed our
clients and some critics of intensive production. Our flocks
men, managers and Griffiths family are totally concentrated
and focused on our hens welfare and the safety of the
product. We are convinced that our colony system is one of a
leader in care for bird welfare in the Uk, in high volume food
production, needed to sustain the Uk egg requirement.
Being winner of the Health & Welfare
Award, at the Pig & Poultry Marketing Awards last year only
goes to reinforce Oaklands commitment to the care of their
hens. In this category the judges looked for producers who
could demonstrate a high standard of livestock production,
livestock disease prevention through effective health, welfare
and bio security regimes and those who are generally raising
the standards of animal and human health on farm.
